In the
Blairsville - Union County area
of North Georgia, the Jaycees have put on this festival for
38 years. While small in number, they accomplished by far
the largest and most distinctive event of the year in Union
County. The Jaycees request and get help from hundreds of
citizens, firms and organizations each year to make the
Festival the success it has always been.
Doing Good
While those
working on it enjoy the participation and the thousands of
visitors applaud the fun event, the real benefactors of the
Sorghum Festival are the many needy people and charities
that depend on the Jaycees for their annual contribution of
funds raised at the festival. No social organization
donates more charity dollars back to the community than do
the Blairsville Jaycees.
